They are all beeswax, but they do different jobs. Yellow beeswax keeps its golden colour and honey aroma. White beeswax is refined and neutral. Sheets come ready-formed and are rolled without melting any wax. Choose based on whether you want natural aroma, a neutral base or a candle with no wax heating.

Yellow beeswax: natural colour and aroma
Pure yellow beeswax is 100 % natural and unrefined. It keeps its golden yellow colour and honey aroma. Its hardness and slow, steady burn make it a choice for moulded candles, pillars, tapers and rolled candles.
- Melting point: 62-65 ºC.
- Pouring: 70-75 ºC, never above 85 ºC.
- Other uses: lip balms, creams, ointments, handmade soaps, wood treatment and sealing wax.
- Blends: with soy or paraffin it adds hardness and body. With soy wax, 10-30 % beeswax usually works.
On its own it can be too hard for container candles, so in jars it is blended with other waxes. It needs no fragrance: it already brings a honey aroma. Over time a whitish layer may appear on the surface (bloom). This is natural and does not mean the wax has gone off.
In blocks, for production
Pure yellow beeswax in blocks is the same honey-scented yellow wax, sold in bulk in 5, 25, 50, 100 and 150 kg formats. It melts at 62-67 ºC and is poured at about 70 ºC. The minimum order is 5 kg, with volume pricing; for more than 500 kg, contact us. Break the blocks up so they melt faster and more evenly, and let candles cool away from draughts before unmoulding.
White beeswax: a neutral base
White beeswax is refined and bleached using physical processes. It loses the yellow colour and honey aroma but keeps the functional properties of beeswax. It comes as pastilles or pearls and melts at 62-65 ºC.
- Cosmetics: unscented lip balms, creams, solid perfumes and depilatory waxes. Guide dosage 3-15 % (balms 8-12 %, creams 3-5 %).
- Candles: white candles, pastel shades or delicate fragrances. Melt at 70-75 ºC, add fragrance at 65 ºC and cool slowly to avoid cracks.
- Other: white handmade soaps, encaustic art and restoration.
It takes dyes and blends well with oils, butters and plant waxes. It is not a preservative: if your formula contains water, add one.
Coloured beeswax sheets
These are natural beeswax sheets, 20 × 20 cm, with a honeycomb texture, for rolled candles with no melting. They have a light natural beeswax scent and come in eight colours: blue, ivory, brown, orange, black, red, pink and green.
A whole sheet makes one 20 cm tall candle. Cut in half, it makes two 10 cm candles of the same thickness. They suit beginners, creative workshops and educational activities.
How to roll them
- Work the sheet at room temperature. If it is cold, warm it slightly in your hands.
- Place the wick along one edge, sticking out at the top.
- Roll firmly and tightly, leaving no air gaps.
- Press the end of the sheet to seal the candle.
- For a two-colour candle, stack two sheets before rolling.
For the wick, use the 61 m unwaxed wick roll, cut slightly longer than the candle, or a wick sized to the final diameter, such as 4-5 cm cotton wicks or 5-6 cm. Always run a burn test.
Beekeeping sheets: for the hive and for candles
These are embossed foundation sheets made from virgin Spanish beeswax, with the honeycomb cells imprinted. They are yellow, smell of honey and melt at 62-67 ºC. They are designed for hive frames and also work for rolling pure beeswax candles.
| Format | Size | Packs (units) |
|---|---|---|
| Langstroth | 42 × 20 cm | 42, 84, 168 or 336 |
| Layens | 30 × 35 cm | 44, 88, 176 or 440 |
| Dadant | 42 × 27 cm | 84 or 168 |
| Dadant super | 13 × 42 cm | 45, 90 or 180 |
For candles, use an unwaxed wick: that way the candle is made only of beeswax and natural wick. Store the sheets flat in a cool place, at around 25 ºC. The larger the pack, the lower the price per sheet.
Which to choose for your project
- Honey-scented beeswax candle, moulded or pillar: pure yellow. For pillars, for example, 6-7 cm cotton wicks or 7-8 cm depending on the diameter.
- The same candle, in volume: pure yellow blocks.
- White or pastel candle, or a fragrance without honey notes: white.
- Unscented cosmetics: white. With a natural honey aroma: yellow.
- Harden a soy candle: yellow, at 10-30 %.
- Candles with no melting, workshops or gifts: coloured sheets.
- Beekeeping, or rolled virgin-wax candles in quantity: beekeeping sheets.

It is beeswax refined and bleached using physical processes. It loses its colour and aroma but keeps its functional properties.
Do the sheets need melting?
No. They are rolled at room temperature; if they are cold, warm them slightly in your hands.
Can I make container candles with beeswax alone?
On its own it can be too hard for a jar. It is usually blended with soy wax, using 10-30 % beeswax.
