Description
Description
Rapeseed wax for moulds is a 100% plant-based wax obtained by hydrogenating rapeseed oil, GMO-free. Its high melting point and hardness make it suitable for moulded candles, church candles and decorative figures, with a silky texture and good stability for adding dyes and fragrance.
Features
- Format: beads, off-white.
- Origin: plant-based, hydrogenated rapeseed oil; free from pesticides, herbicides and GMOs.
- Melting point: 52-56 °C.
- Optimal filling temperature: 70 °C.
- Odour: odourless.
- Accepts dyes and fragrance oils.
- Storage: cool place, around 25 °C.
Recommended uses
- Moulded pillar candles, church candles and decorative figures.
- Custom candle projects with colour and scent.
- For crafters working with moulds and for brands looking for a plant-based alternative to paraffin in moulded candles.
Usage tips
- Melt the wax over medium heat, about 10-15 °C above its melting point, until fully clear; otherwise crystals or frosting may form as it sets.
- While it melts, thread the wick through the mould or fit a guide rod, depending on the mould type.
- Fill the mould and let it set away from draughts and sudden temperature changes: cooling too fast causes wet spots and cracks, too slowly causes frosting.
- Release only once the candle is completely cold and solid, and carefully: rapeseed wax is less firm than paraffin.
