Description

APF soy wax is a high-melt-point plant-based wax formulated for moulded candles: pillar candles, taper candles and figures that must hold their shape without a container. Compared with BPF soy wax (for containers), it provides the hardness needed to release from the mould without deforming, with a natural matte finish.

Features

  • Format: flakes / beads, creamy white.
  • Origin: plant-based (hydrogenated soybean oil).
  • Melting point: 57-63 °C.
  • Pouring temperature: 65-70 °C.
  • Fragrance load: 6-8% (maximum 8%).
  • Slight shrinkage on cooling for easy mould release.
  • Storage: cool, dry place (~25 °C).
  • Sizes: from 1 kg to 1000 kg.

Recommended uses

  • Pillar candles, taper candles and decorative figures without a container.
  • Not recommended for container candles: it is too hard and may crack; use BPF soy wax for containers.
  • Beginners and crafters with the 1-2 kg packs; brands and manufacturers with 20-40 kg sacks and pallets of up to 1000 kg.

Usage tips

  • Clean the mould. Silicone moulds need no release agent; for metal or rigid plastic, apply release spray or vegetable oil.
  • Fix the wick to the base with putty or tape and keep it taut with a holder. For 6-7 cm pillars, use a cotton wick for that diameter: soy burns cooler than paraffin.
  • Melt at 70-75 °C until the wax is fully clear with no crystals.
  • At 65-70 °C add fragrance (6-8%) and dye, stir and pour at that temperature (±5 °C), away from draughts.
  • Let it cool undisturbed for 12-24 h depending on size and release it once cold, without forcing.
  • Frosting (white bloom) is natural in soy and does not affect the burn; slow cooling reduces it. For extra hardness, add stearic acid (2-5%); blending with paraffin is possible but the wax will no longer be 100% plant-based.

Volume-based pricing: the larger the pack size, the lower the price per unit. We ship to Spain and across the European Union.
