What you need for each candle

• Wax: use a moulding wax: Premium soy wax for figures and moulds, APF mouldable soy wax or Paraffin 56-58. Container waxes are too soft to release cleanly from a mould.
• Wick (optional): this is mainly a decorative piece. At 25 mm thick, if you want to light it use the smallest size, 4-5 cm cotton wicks, and do a test burn.
• Colour (optional): liquid candle dyes or dye blocks.

Tips for use

1. Place the mould level on a flat surface: as the piece is thin, any tilt will show.
2. Pour at the right temperature for your wax: around 65 °C for the soy wax for figures.
3. Let it cool completely, away from draughts, before unmoulding.
4. Unmould by gently stretching the silicone from the ends of the curve.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need a wick? No. Many are used as decorative objects; if you plan to light it, add a wick and do a test burn.

Can I use container soy wax? It is not ideal: it is soft, so the candle may lose its shape or stick to the mould. A moulding wax works better.

How much wax do I need per candle? Fill the mould with water, measure the millilitres and multiply by 0.9 to get the approximate grams of wax.
